BGHW All Time Great selected to second straight All State Game!

Eric Kurpiewski, Sr. Forward, has been a contributing player on varsity for all four years.  Although he only scored a handful of goals his freshman year, none were bigger than his goal in the State Championship game that help lead BG/H/W to its first State Championship. Eric, had a breakout year, in 10th grade, to solidify our second line with 15 points in 20 league games. Helping our team to a regular season title, league playoff championship, and a final four birth in the State playoffs.

Last year, Eric was identified as one of the elite players in the State of Illinois. His lightning speed, non-stop motor, and fearlessness helped BGHW to another regular season title, league playoff title, and second State Championship in 3 years. Eric was named to the league all star team and Illinois All State team for the first time.

This year Eric was chosen for the preseason Illinois Showcase team and as a captain has lead by example all season long. Even though every team knows they need to focus on him and Brendan Buckley, they are still amongst the league leaders in scoring and have helped the varsity team compete with one of the toughest schedules in the state. Eric was recently selected as a league all star for the second year in a row and last night competed in his second straight All State game, notching 1 goal and 1 assist!

Eric will be continuing his athletic career playing Division 1 roller hockey at Lindenwood University. Congratulations to Eric and his family!
